FIRST ABIA STATE POLYTECHNIC DISTINGUISHED GUEST LECTURE

(And Conferment of Distinguished Fellow Award)

On 23rd October 2024 Chief Obinna C Anaba led captains of industries to Abia State Polytechnic, Aba where he delivered a very powerful lecture.

Chief Obinna was a distinguished guest lecturer at the First Abia State Polytechnic Distinguished Guest Lecture and Conferment of Distinguished Fellow Awards. The Accomplished Corporate Executive and Business Leader, with over thirty years career in Shell International Oil Company spoke on "Growing Talent Capacity: The Key to Sustainable Development".

Sharing Talent Stories, the renowned business leader highlighted his late Sir Samuel Anaba's statement "We build people and people build houses". The renowned leader and advocate for positive change, Chief Obinna shared his vision for a future where economic prosperity, social justice, and environmental stewardship go hand-in-hand.

The audience was captivated by his insightful remarks as he:

  • Challenged Abia Polytechnic to adapt their curriculum to creating skilled manpower for the artisans, technical and operational cadre rather than awarding academic degrees.
  • Charged the school to ⁠aspire to be the hub for the development of technical skills for Abia, its environs and Nigeria
  • Asked Abia State Polytechnic to see itself as partners in the State government’s industrialisation agenda.
  • Called on the school to take advantage of its unique location to seek collaboration and cooperation with corporate organisations.

Sir Obinna's message resonated deeply with the students, faculty, and guests in attendance, inspiring a new wave of commitment to sustainable development and growth.
